SOUTH PACIFIC MANAGEMENT NEWS: Celebrate the Holidays on a Haumana Cruise; Special Rates on Moorea & Tikehau Mark 50th Anniversary of Overwater Bungalow; New Five-Star Chef and Shorefront Redo at Manava Tahiti Resort

Papeete, Tahiti (Oct 12, 2017) – From celebrating the season yachting between islands to celebrating an icon of Tahitian hospitality, South Pacific Management has lots to talk about in the weeks ahead.

ENHANCE YOUR TRIP TO THE SOUTHS SEAS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON WITH A

THREE-DAY LUXURY YACHT CRUISE BETWEEN RAIATEA & BORA BORA

Long before Europeans ever set eyes on Polynesia, tattooed Maohi warriors raced canoes and rode the rolling surf, while villagers celebrated their arrival with native dance and music. Now you can follow the routes of the ancient islanders on small luxury yacht cruises over the holidays and make this Yuletide season one you will never forget.

Embark on the Haumana – a 12-cabin luxury yacht – for an intimate cruise to enhance your Polynesian holiday with a three-day, island-to-island sailing adventure. Choose from a Christmas Cruise – between Raiatea and Bora Bora from December 23 to December 26 – or a special New Year’s Cruise – from Bora Bora to Raiatea from December 30 to January 2 and swap freezing snow, evergreen trees and mittens for sunshine, swaying palms and a parfait of blue striped lagoons.   The friendly crew members will share with you their love of their islands while the chef and his culinary team prepare sophisticated cuisine to complete this feast for the senses.

Explore Taha’a, a flower shaped, sister island to Raiatea, lined with soft mountains and white sand beaches with the magical scent of vanilla wafting through the air. Visit a working orchid farm to see why it’s known as the “Vanilla Island” and bring home some of this exotic crop, considered to be among the world’s finest.  Next, sail to Bora Bora—a coral reef fringed set of islets that author James Michener said was home to “the most beautiful lagoon in the world.” You’ll soon see why this special place is a bucket list luxury destination for travelers the world over.

The $2,029 U.S. per person trip on the Haumana luxury yacht includes: three nights; all meals and a selection of complementary wines; a half-day excursion to Taha’a, the Vanilla Island; and activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, a barbeque on a motu and other aquatic & cultural experiences.

“Bookend” your cruise with stays at the Manava Resort Tahiti – with convenient flights available from FAA International Airport to Raiatea or Bora Bora to meet the yacht for embarkment – and then unwind after the cruise at SPM’s lovely Manava Beach Resort on Moorea.

There is simply no better way to celebrate the season, island style!

SPM CELEBRATES THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ICONIC OVERWATER BUNGALOW WITH SPECIAL RATES ON MOOREA & TIKEHAU

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic symbol of Tahitian hospitality – the overwater bungalow – which was first created by three American hoteliers on Raiatea who wanted to give their guests direct access to the beautiful blue lagoon surrounding their property.  Five decades later, there are nearly 900 overwater bungalows – literally thatched roof huts turned into luxury island-style hotel rooms on stilts – spread across 22 hotels throughout seven of The Islands of Tahiti.

South Pacific Management celebrates this milestone with special rates at each of their properties with overwater bungalows.

  • Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort, Tikehau – This gem of a resort is nestled in a wild coconut grove and framed by a pink sand beach on a coral atoll an hour’s flight from Bora Bora. The Tikehau Pearl Beach has 24 truly authentic overwater bungalows made of precious indigenous materials like bamboo, woven niau, teak kohu and coconut.  Each is about 600 square feet in size and each features “Tahitian TV” – a window in the floor to watch the ballet of tropical fish below.   Rates begin at XPF 39,900 or $395 US plus tax except for the city tax (advance purchase offer)

  • Manava Beach Resort & Spa, Moorea – With 28 Overwater bungalows, the island style resort is in an ideal location, near the majestic Cook’s Bay and the Gulf of Moorea. The Manava also offers beachfront and garden bungalows as well as one restaurant, two friendly bars, an infinity edge pool, an on-site spa, a meeting room, a boutique and an on-site diving center. Guests are invited to snorkel among the tropical wonders of its own coral nursery.  Rates begin at XPF 47,880 or $475 US incl of tax except the city tax (advance purchase offer)
