January 18-20, 2013: New York Times Travel Show, New York, NY
The New York Times Travel Show allows visitors to discover every corner of the globe through hundreds of booths featuring domestic and international destinations, resorts, hotels and adventures. It is the largest travel trade and consumer show in the United States.

January 25 & 26, 2013: Morris Murdock Travel Show, Sandy, UT
Representatives from over 100 travel vendors including airlines, cruise lines, hotels, resorts, tourism offices and other related destination services bring visitors up to date on the hottest travel trends.

January 26-27, 2013: Chicago Travel & Adventure Show, Rosemont, IL
This two-day show features tradeshow exhibits, travel speakers, culinary demonstrations, and cultural performances.

February 16-17, 2013: Travel & Adventure Show, Santa Clara, CA
The Annual Bay Area Travel & Vacation Show is the premier travel event for Northern California consumers. Over 6,000 travel-motivated consumers are expected to attend from the affluent San Francisco Bay Area.

February 22-24, 2013: LA Times Travel Show, Los Angeles, CA
The LA Times Show is the largest travel show in the western region of the US.

March 9-10, 2013: Travel & Adventure Show, Washington, D.C.
This two-day event allows visitor to discover authentic travel experience and be entertained at this travel extravaganza. Travel experts will be in attendance including Andrew Zimmern, Rick Steves and Arthur Frommer.

April 30 – May 23, 2013: TTNA Workshops
Each spring, Tahiti Tourisme North America (TTNA) and our participating Partners hit the road visiting cities across the United States as a method of reaching qualified travel agents and educating them through the TTNA Workshop Series. This year, the workshops will take place in 12 US cities.

June 8 & 9, 2013: Scuba Show, Long Beach, CA
Scuba Show in Long Beach is the largest consumer dive show in the U.S. with almost 12,000 attendees at the two-day show.

June 24-26, 2013: Incentive Travel Exchange Las Vegas, NV
Incentive Travel Exchange is a pre-set, one-on-one appointment based show where interested incentive buyers request appointments to meet with Tahiti Tourisme North America and Air Tahiti Nui. Participation is limited.

June 28 & 29, 2013: AFCI Location, Los Angeles, CA
Locations Show brings together hundreds of global production VIPs from independent filmmaker to industry veteran to media to film commissioner, while showcasing an unbeatable display of incentives, production locations, and business and support services.

2012 Tahiti Travel Exchange

The 8th edition of Tahiti Travel Exchange (TTE) was held at the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti in Arue, Tahiti on November 29, 2012. The TTE is a culmination of efforts by our Preferred Tour Operators in North America, our local Supplier Partners, and Air Tahiti Nui. We’re pleased to announce that this year we exceeded our expectations with a 50% increase in attendance, which equated to 126 Travel Agents from US, Canada and Mexico and 24 Tour Operator representatives from 13 North America based Tour Operators.

The 1st edition of the TTE was launched in November 2004 and continues to be a well-respected trade event within our industry. The program has been designed to strengthen the relationships between our preferred Tour Operators, Travel Agents and Supplier Partners. TTE is a 1-day, intensive training event that includes destination training, Supplier product training, networking functions, and a Tour Operator organized and led FAM trip through the Islands of Tahiti.

Hiria Ottino, GIE Tahiti Tourisme’s Chief Executive Officer officially opened the event with a warm welcome speech and was followed by the destination presentation given by Jonathan Reap, TTNA Managing Director. The presentation included in depth information on all the islands of Tahiti, general travel information, niche markets, and the Tahiti Tiare Program. Enrollment in the Tahiti Tiare Program is required prior to departure and participation in TTE completes 3 of the 4 requirements in becoming a Certified Tahiti Specialist. We’re happy to announce 15 Travel Agents have become Certified Tahiti Specialist since attending the TTE 2012!

New for 2012! In addition to learning about our Supplier Partner’s products it is important (and fun!) to learn about some of the cultural aspects and influences of Tahiti. For this reason, we added Cultural Presenters to the Supplier rotations to educate the Travel Agents on Tahitian Vanilla, Monoi, Tahitian Cultured Pearls, and the art of craftsmanship and traditional Tahitian tattoo. The cultural presenters were very well received by the Travel Agents and Supplier Partners alike.
